NACO Institue of Excellence

Designed by Nebraska Extension, The NACO Institute of Excellence is a year-long program of professional development for county officials.  Participants will network with peers across the state as they grow leadership capacities in the roles they serve.

Topics explored will include:

  • Leading with empathy
  • Leadership transition
  • Nebraska population and economic trends
  • Gallup Strengths
  • Managing conflicts
  • Effective meeting management
  • Corresponding with legislators

The courses are reflective of the longstanding partnership between Nebraska Extension, the Nebraska Association of County Officials and our 93 counties, working together to educate and improve the lives of all Nebraskans.

In 2021, the program will be offered in a hybrid format. Early sessions will be delivered online with plans to transition to in-person programs as soon it is safe to do so. The final session will be held in conjunction with the NACO Annual Conference. Session dates are:
